We use the term Hypnotherapy to mean both the use of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes and the application of therapy during hypnosis. 

As with any therapy, it helps you to modify behaviour patterns that you wish to change.  It is especially helpful with motivation, confidence building and stress relief, with compulsions (such as eating disorders and smoking) and can be very effective in pain control.

Hypnotherapists bypass the conscious mind allowing positive suggestions for change to be given directly to your subconscious mind.  Hypnotic suggestions have a cumulative effect :  over time there will be a build up of suggestions in the subconscious mind, upon which it will act.

Hypnotherapists do not control your mind!

Hypnotherapy helps you to take control of all your mental resources, to bring about the changes you want. You are in control during hypnotherapy – your unconscious mind will never do anything that it doesn’t want to.

Hypnotherapy is often used in conjunction with NLP.
