Mike is specialist in all aspects of adult learning and development. He works with groups and businesses on a variety of topics, including culture change, criminal law and investigation, and personal growth. His varied background in training, fraud prevention and detection, and personal change leaves him ideally placed to work with companies and teams who are looking to make real and long-lasting changes to the way in which they work.
Mike has worked throughout the UK, in a variety of roles, to gain the experience he brings to his current positions. He has dealt with unit trust funds, managed multi-million pound budgets, carried out various types of therapy and coaching, and programmed and managed computer systems. He spent a number of years involved in criminal investigations, often dealing with complex, high value investigations under both English & Welsh, and Scots law, and has carried out surveillance in some interesting locations!
Mike’s first business venture was the creation of ITS Training, where he is now the Managing Director of this highly successful training company. Since 1999, ITS have grown to provide a complete training and consultancy service to both the public and private sectors, with a portfolio of more than one hundred courses, to say nothing of the extensive list of qualifications they offer and their bespoke services (executive coaching, project management, training design). They have never forgotten their roots, however, and remain the company of choice for high quality investigative training.
This was followed by several other ventures in the fields of learning and personal change and, more recently, in the field of investigation. Mike now finds much of his time spent as a public speaker, where he covers such subjects as law, psychology and communication. He has been published on a number of topics (including criminal investigation and Neuro Linguistic Programming) but still finds time to works as a very successful executive coach and corporate relationships expert.
Mike’s main professional interests are the psychology of interviewing and lying, language use (and misuse) and memory retention in learning. When not working, Mike’s hobbies include music, travel, languages, Italian food, Italian wines, Italian cars and hieroglyphs. He lives with his wife, Jill, and their snooty cat, Toffee.
