The Personal Care – Direct Payment scheme is a godsend to many people but, unfortunately, a source of illegal funds to a dishonest few. Likewise, the Fairer Charging scheme is open to abuse by a small minority, who seek to avoid paying their fair share.
By the end of this event, your delegates will be in a position to investigate fraud and abuse against the schemes. They’ll understand the rules that surround the schemes and the duties of applicants and recipients.
The course also looks at common problems with the scheme, steps that can be taken to prevent abuse, possible offences and the collection and generation of relevant evidence. There is also an overview of the civil recovery options.
